This is a notice to let you know there will be a Special General Meeting of Athletics Yukon to make some changes to the current bylaws (see below).

Athletics Yukon Association Bylaws - changes 2009

 

1. Article Three – Meetings of Members 

    s. 3.07 currently says

 

The annual general meting shall be held at least once in every calendar year and not more than one month following the end of the society’s financial year on October 31 of each year.

 

Change: substitute August 31 for October 31

 

Explanation:  By holding our AGM in September we might be able to draw more interest as the running season is still going on.

 

2. Article Eleven – Notices

    s. 11.01 currently says

 

    A notice may be given to a member by personal delivery or by mail; a notice by mail shall be deemed to have been received three days after it is posted if properly addressed and adequately stamped.

 

   Change: s. 11.01 to add email as a means of delivering notices

 

A notice may be given to a member by personal delivery, email or mail; a notice by mail shall be deemed to have been received three days after it is posted if properly addressed and adequately stamped. An email shall be deemed to have been received the same day it was sent if a current email address has been used.

 

Explanation: by adding email as a method of delivery we can reach more of our members more efficiently.
